Tkblackbelt Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Sounds interesting! Is it going to be open source? Quote
kennylovecode Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Are you looking for free labor? Quote

It's not about a free lab, it's about creating something beautiful together and then we can see who does what and how. Personally, I don't need any money, so collaborators will get paid. Quote
Spirited Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Thanks for volunteering me for project manager, but I must politely decline your offer due to non-competes I've signed. If I can follow up on your positions list, what is your contribution? Quote
Tkblackbelt Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Im kind of confused lol. It’s going to be open source, but you are going to pay people? Do you hope to get a return on that by hosting a private server later? Just wondering what the end goal is aside from trying to build a great server. Quote

I don't believe in this kind of thing. People are all profit driven animals. This approach reminds me of pro4ever on the eliteppers forum. Quote

Are you God~ My question is what can I gain from participating in this project? Just the joy of coding? Childhood memories? It still has monetary rewards. If it has monetary rewards, who will pay for this expense? If it has monetary rewards, would it still open source? Sorry, I have seen too many of these things before, and I am still very sensitive to them. Quote

If that's the case, I'll cover all the expenses without any problem, and everyone who contributes to this server will be rewarded out of my own pocket. And yes, it will be open-source only for those who want to take part in this wonderful project! Quote

I will allocate all the necessary budget to take this project to a beautiful level , I will contribute everything related to programming in C++ and C# , I will start posting the launcher project , loader with imgui and open source directx so that we can all work together and make beautiful things. I will personally dedicate myself to this project with everything that is necessary . Quote

I want to give this community another chance with an amazing server where everyone can play, without worrying about it being shut down or other nasty things happening. Quote
kennylovecode Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 You explained it very clearly, I hope it's true. I am an amateur C # enthusiast who has developed many private servers in China using Spirted's Comet source and some open-source sources. My strengths are basic business development and testing, feedback, and bug fixing. I have some experience in disassembly, but not much. Hope to have the opportunity to participate 36 minutes ago, ChiperXsS said: Why does it always have to be about money? Is that the most important issue? 为什么总是要谈钱?这是最重要的问题吗? And yes, it will be open-source only for those who want to take part in this wonderful project! 如果是这样,我会毫无问题地承担所有费用,并且所有为这个服务器做出贡献的人都会从我自己的口袋里得到奖励。是的,它将只对那些想要参与这个精彩项目的人开源! Quote
Tkblackbelt Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Yeah sounds like a cool project. I’m a backend developer with about 13 yoe. I mostly work with JVM tech like Kotlin, Spring, Flink, etc… Conquer was one of my favorite games growing up (prior to the addition of the fan/tower), and I basically got hooked on tech after seeing all the cool stuff people were doing on epvp at the time lol. I have a habbit now, where everytime I learn a new programming language I build a co server with it to varying degrees of feature completion. Mostly because its fun and it tests almost every feature of a language/framework. Right now Im learning Elixir and may try a server in it. I dont know if I will have enough time to dedicate to something like this, but definitely will be watching. The nice thing if you do it open source is you can just start the repo and people can contribute whenever. Probably just need someone to define the overall vision and architecture so that people know how to contribute. Quote
carniato Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 Hello everyone, I've been part of the Conquer Online community for many years, especially in Brazil. In the past, I attempted twice to run private servers in Brazil, reaching peaks of around 300 players online. At that time, however, I was still very inexperienced. I made many technical mistakes, relied on poor practices and sources, and after some time I couldn’t maintain proper support or long-term stability so I eventually stepped away from hosting. Since then, my relationship with Conquer has changed. Today, I work with Conquer purely for learning, experimentation, and fun. I use it as a way to practice programming, build features, and understand systems more deeply, without the pressure of monetization or running a live server. I currently have a YouTube channel where I teach people how to start and understand Conquer servers, and a small community of around 200 members. The goal has always been educational, helping people learn, not selling illusions. Professionally, I’m a junior developer working in a Blue Team environment, and I’m constantly studying security, systems, and performance. I started with C# through existing Conquer sources, and for the last few years I've been learning and improving in C++, especially in low-level and server-related concepts. I'm far from being an elite programmer, but I'm consistent, curious, and always evolving. What really motivates me about this project is the long-term vision. In Brazil, the Conquer community is extremely underserved most servers are short-lived, scam-oriented, and poorly managed, with owners focused only on quick profits instead of quality, stability, and respect for players. I would be very interested in being part of this team, contributing where I can development, tooling, testing, features, documentation. More than anything, I want to be part of something serious, transparent, and future-oriented, built by a responsible team that actually cares about the community. Thank you for reading, and I wish success to the project regardless Quote
