Hey there!

Welcome to Cooldown! We're a programming and game development board, welcoming programmers of all levels of experience. Whether you're starting a new game or you're new to programming, you'll find support and a helping hand from our members. That being said, our members are generally here to participate in the online community - hostility is always unnecessary and unwelcome. Though most of our rules are common sense, we ask that you please take a minute to skim through and get caught up before posting.

Accounts

1. Be yourself. Do not impersonate other community members or people. 
2. Be respectful of identity. Accounts with invalid or hurtful pronouns will be warned or banned based on severity.
3. One account per person. Do not create accounts for project names or to influence polls.
4. No inappropriate usernames. Users with inappropriate usernames will have their username reset or account banned.

Behavior

1. Be polite. Our members aren't out to get you. Any provocative messages will be deleted.
2. No double posting. Please wait at least 24 hours before posting twice in a row on a given topic.
3. No off-topic spam. Spam topics, advertisements, and demands for free software will be deleted.
4. No soliciting. Please don't send unsolicited work offers to members unless they have specifically advertised their services.

Content

1. Avoid controversies. Posting arguments on highly controversial topics is forbidden.
2. English only. Please keep posts in English to make it easier to moderate content.
3. No piracy. Please do not distribute illegally obtained software. This includes Navicat and other paid utilities.
4. No theft. Content and code theft / scams will result in a warning or ban based on the severity.
5. Post with permission. Only post work you have permission to redistribute, be that by software license or written consent.

Please keep in mind that staff members have flexibility when upholding these rules. Punishments will match the severity of the offense, and don't just include your activity on Cooldown but other platforms. Thank you for your time, and we hope you enjoy the forums.
