Howdy it's nice to meet you! I'm Lynnora she/her 26, and I'm an American living in the UK!

I've been a silent Conquer Online follower from other website and thankfully managed to find this forum since the other has unfortunately lost momentum. I am mostly an editor, or rather I should say recolour-er and resizer? I am just now dipping my toes into mesh editing and creating my own original garments although it's a bit difficult with previous guides having broken image examples. Funnily enough, I only learned about editing client-side in 2019! It still baffles me how active the Conquer community is after all these years, and I hope to learn more things such as how running a private server works. Eventually I want to learn how to build my own little server to test my edits. I don't think I could run a public server, but I would love to be able to create maps, weapons, garments, and even effects for other servers or just the average player in general. Really thankful this forum exists and I'm excited to get to know everyone here.

Disclaimer: I have dyslexia please bear with me and my poor spelling. My grammar will always be poor, but I try my best on spelling! :)

Well, hello there and welcome to our humble, barely alive community. I'm not sure if I should be posting things about other forums here, but if you're looking forward to doing a lot of editing I would suggest taking a look at some of Ultimation's project releases. Not sure if the work is still around since he no longer supports said forum, but if you ask nicely enough and he has the projects on hand, you might just get some things to help you on the long run(might have to pay idk...).

That being said, you might already be aware but you will probably need to learn(get a program) to edit c3 files. Recoloring an item to look like a different one might not be the best choice some times(it will look super wonky xD). Testing wise, there are loads of guides to projects that you can setup within a few minutes so you have access to spawn and edit your new equipment. If you'd like, you're also welcome to join my server. I work on it as I go, so everyone has rights to everything, so you can feel free to spawn a garment or equipment item of your choice to test it out.

Looking forward to see what you've done so far and will do in the future, most editors have poofed out of CO's existence lately, so it'd be nice and refreshing to see something new.

Hey Lynnora, welcome to the community!

It's a small forum for sure and I can't promise it'll be active, but I can promise it'll be moderated. It's currently a blank resource for you to make use of and shape to your needs. If you ever wanna add sections or add tutorials, I'm always for that. I'm a strong advocate for teaching others and sharing open-source information. I didn't think Cooldown would ever seen a modding community, to be honest - so if you provide enough content, I'll for sure add a section for showcasing and downloading mods.

I think it's super exciting that you're getting into modding. There're a few others I know working on mods and map editing on this forum, so I'm excited to see them get involved with your posts, too. Best of luck here, and reach out if you ever need anything.

Oh you're too kind thank you! I would love to be able to come up with a modernized guide for editing garments at the very least. I'm still quite new to map editing so I'll leave that to the more experienced users for now. I need to get the hang of the new blender plugin just to see if that's the best mesh editing option or if 3dsmax is still the, unfortunately outdated, ideal method. I think adding a modding section would be great and it would especially be wonderful if older public edits that have been lost due to broken links could potentially come back. I look forward to sharing my work with you all and thanks again for the warm welcome!

Welcome to the tiny but amazing community! I'd LOVE to see some of the work you've already done! And looking forward to seeing more!

but I would love to be able to create maps

^^ Yes!

Hello and thanks so much for the warm welcome! I'm excited to share my work! I'm still new to map editing so I don't have anything super exciting to show at the moment. I mostly do retextures and recolours like Black PKA tiles in SGW for example, but I'm slowly learning how to create unique maps! Let's just say I spent too many hours in GIMP editing each tile by hand

Thanks for the welcome it's nice to meet you! I've scrounged pretty much every forum to try and find a re-upload but alas nothing has come up. I'm going to try to reach out to him, but I wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't respond. Especially since my only way to contact him is through other website I doubt I'll have any luck. I will still try though it's always worth a shot! At the moment I've been using 3dsmax and meshmixer for my .c3 edits, but with the new Blender plugin I'm testing the waters there so hopefully editing will become more streamlined through Blender! I look forward to sharing my work with you guys, but don't expect anything crazy for now as I'm still learning more complex ways to edit. My edits are quite simple but practice makes perfect! Thanks again for the welcome :)
