the Warlords Online, was an online video game developed and published by the company TQ Digital Entertainment. It was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that focused on real-time combat between players and exploration of a fantasy world. The game had a variety of playable characters, abilities, weapons and armor to customize your gaming experience, much like Conquer and Eudemons, it launched in alpha in 2009 and shut down its most developed servers in 2012. Yeah, it's pretty crazy how many have come online and gone away now. I have the client for Warlords on patch 1063, but haven't tried very hard to make a private server of it. Could be a fun and interesting project. Of closed games from TQ, you're missing Era of Faith (which we have a section for here, never left Alpha for the English version), Absolute Force Online (a 3D FPS they made), Vampire Online (idk if that ever left the Alpha), and a Disney MMORPG (only Chinese, I think). I have the clients for all of them if any of those interest you. And in currently active games, they also have Tian Yuan (a Chinese MMORPG a bit like Eudemons and Conquer).

Yes! There's a public tool for extracting from TPD and TPI files. You can give it a whirl, but there've been several reports that it doesn't work with the newest version of the file. Warlords is old though, so it should work?

Absolutely, it's mind-boggling how the gaming landscape has evolved over the years. Your possession of the Warlords client on patch 1063 is a fantastic resource, and I can imagine that turning it into a private server could indeed be a thrilling project.

I'm not aware of any reverse engineering work that's been done with this game. You might be able to find tooling in Conquer Online that works, if you're lucky, but it's not a guarantee. You might have to start reverse engineering the client if you want a private server for this game. I'm not sure what changes were made to the cryptography, either... but that's at least detourable.

The game is based on the C3 engine, and use formats that were used at some point by CO (like TPI/TPD for storing assets). So yeah, you can look at some tools available for CO to some extent.

For crypto/protocol (needed to make a private server), from what I remember from people who looked at it, it was not really similar to CO. But that's based on really vague memories from stuff I've seen on private forums.
